Composition alum Austin Wintory nominated for two BAFTA awards for video game score

Thornton graduate Austin Wintory (’07, composition) has received two British Academy of Film and Television (BAFTA) award nominations for his work on The Banner Saga video game musical score. Wintory was also honored with the 2015 Outstanding Achievement: Music Production award at the Annual Game Music Awards.

Wintory’s previous work on the PlayStation game Journey won an Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences D.I.C.E. award, as well as two BAFTAs and was nominated for a Grammy. Wintory, whose compositions have been featured in numerous video games, feature films and concerts, also serves on the Boards of Directors of the Education Through Music – Los Angeles organization and the Society of Composers and Lyricists.
