Guild of Music Supervisors conference held at USC

Last week, The Guild of Music Supervisors held its 3rd annual “State of Music in Media” conference at USC’s Bovard Auditorium, convening a series of panels featuring some of the brightest talents in the field. The event was organized with help from USC Thornton Music Industry chair Paul Young, and included music supervisors and show runners from Better Call Saul, Master of None, Girls, Atlanta, and Fargo.

The thriving business of video game music was also well-represented at the conference, with composer and alumnus Bear McCreary (BM ’02 – read about McCreary’s 2016 USC Thornton Outstanding Alumnus Award commencement address) speaking on a panel with teams from major video game studios.
