Helane Anderson

Adjunct instructor


A songwriter trained as both a classical pianist and singer, Helane Anderson has extensive experience in the classical music industry as an administrator. She has held Artistic Programming positions at both the Los Angeles Philharmonic and St. Paul Chamber Orchestra and served as Director of Composers & Repertoire at renowned classical music publisher Boosey & Hawkes.

After spending many years in the music industry while continuing to work as a performing arts consultant, Anderson decided it was time to give back and trained to become certified as an Integrative CranioSacral Therapy Practitioner, Sound Healer and Certified Massage Therapist. She studied CranioSacral Therapy and Polarity Therapy through the Life Energy Institute with further studies at the Milne Institute in CranioSacral work. She also studied at the Institute for Psycho-Structural Balancing (IPSB) in Los Angeles, receiving training in Circulatory/Deep Tissue Massage, Acupressure, Pregnancy and Oncology Massage. Anderson also received further training in both sound healing and reiki, and holds a certificate in Sound Healing and Therapy from the Globe Institute in San Francisco and is a certified hatha/vinyasa yoga instructor through OM Yoga in New York City. Helane Anderson incorporates her musical skills into her work though use of healing songs, Tibetan singing bowls, a Paiste gong, and Biosonics Tuning Forks.
