Joanna Demers publishes article on the legalities of musical sampling

USC Thornton Musicology professor Joanna Demers recently published an article entitled “Sound-alikes, Law, and Style,” exploring the legal nuances of musical sampling, in the University of Missouri – Kansas City Law Review, Vol. 83:2. Her third book, Drone and Apocalypse: An Exhibit Catalog for the End of the World, a fictionalized survey of twenty-first-century artistic and cultural theory, will be published by Zero Books in the fall of 2015.
