Key Checkout

Bruce Harnishfeger, Facilities Manager, Operation

All keys checked out on a key contract during the 2012-2013 Academic Year are due back to the Music Operations Office (BMH-101) on or before May 15, 2014. Late fees will apply for keys returned after that deadline.

How to Request a Key
All requests for semester-long, academic-year-long, summer, or faculty/staff key checkout must be submitted in writing by completing the Key Request Form and returning it to BMH 101. This document will serve as a contract agreement between the keyholder and Music Operations. Key requests should be submitted to the Facilities Manager. All student key checkouts must be approved in writing by the appropriate Thornton faculty or staff member either by signature directly on the form or by direct email approval to the Facilities Manager. Key-request processing can take up 2 business days if keys are in stock, and 1-2 weeks if keys need to be ordered from the University Lock Shop. Upon receipt of a notification email, keys must be picked up from BMH 101 within one week. Presentation of a valid USC ID with Music Operations registration sticker will be required at the time of pick-up.

Late Key Return
Failure to return the key on time will result in a $5 per day fine up to 10 days. After 10 days, the key will be treated as a lost key (see Lost Keys).
