Before there was Diana, before there was Fergie, there was Margaret, Duchess of Argyll!

A sexy, salacious, scintillating character study in two acts, Powder Her Face hypothetically explores what happened in the life of the Duchess of Argyll behind the closed doors of London ’s exclusive Dorchester Hotel from 1930-1990.  Beginning with her first failed marriage, moving through her sensational second divorce from the Duke of Argyll, and culminating with her eviction from the Dorchester Hotel for lack of funds, this eccentric woman will disgust, delight, and ultimately distress you.  Conducted by Thomas Adès (composer conductor in residence for the Los Angeles Philharmonic) Powder Her Face is an exciting coproduction between the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music and the Los Angeles Philharmonic in cooperation with the Thornton Chamber Orchestra.
