Scott Jeppesen releases second album with help from jazz alumni, faculty

USC Thornton Jazz Studies alumnus and DMA candidate, Scott Jeppesen (MM ’08), celebrates the release of his second album, “Wonders,” which features original compositions that were inspired by the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The recording includes Jeppesen and fellow Thornton alumni Larry Koonse (’84, jazz) on guitar and Dan Schnelle (’05, jazz) on bass. Jazz Studies faculty member Bob Sheppard is the producer on the album and is also featured on tenor saxophone.

Jeppesen currently teaches jazz ensembles at Valencia High School and privately from his studio in Santa Clarita. In 2009, he helped found Cultivating Creative Minds, along with his wife, Roxanne, which provides arts instruction to elementary school aged students throughout Santa Clarita. He has also performed jazz clinics and been a guest artist for many colleges and high schools around the United States.
