Thornton has a number of events planned including campus tours, a Popular Music Forum, and concerts featuring the USC Thornton Chamber Orchestra at Bovard Auditorium and University Chorus at Alfred Newman Recital Hall. USC Thornton Chamber Orchestra Concert

Resident conductor Sharon Lavery leads the USC Thornton Chamber Orchestra in Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6, the “Pastorale” inspired by the composer’s love of nature. For the second half of the program, the Chamber Orchestra presents Mozart’s Symphony No. 40. Students from within the orchestra lead rehearsals and make musical decisions as a group, culminating in a performance without a conductor.
