Adam Hawley named Billboard’s “Smooth Jazz Airplay Artist of the Year”
Adam Hawley (MM ’06, DMA ‘10) has been named Billboard’s 2025 Smooth Jazz Airplay Artist of the Year, getting more airplay than any other artist in the genre. He’s also contributed to four of Billboard’s Top 50 tracks of 2025 as a producer, co-writer and mixing engineer, including his own songs “Absolute Love (feat. Judah Sealy)” and “Fly By.”
Handpicked by founder of Earth, Wind & Fire Maurice White, Halwey first debuted with the album “Just the Beginning” on his label Kalimba Music. His work would since land him 18 Billboard #1 Hits as artist and producer, as he played for artists such as Jennifer Lopez, Natalie Cole, Lalah Hathaway, The Manhattan Transfer and Brian McKnight, among others.
