On Nov. 10th, Thornton hosted the Studio/Jazz Guitar Program’s Inaugural Alumni Reunion and Concert, hosted by Professor Nick Stoubis (from the class of 1997 and 2000). The concert consisted of a series of guitar duets and solo performances backed by a house rhythm section of drums and bass.

Carson Sound Stage welcomed a full crowd and started promptly at 7:30 PM. Professors Stoubis, Schmunk, Smith, Trovato, Kobza and Kelley glowed with pride as their current students played. Ethan Sherman, Colin Cook, Sam Hoffman, Chase Klyn, Kyle Scherrer, Tim Fischer, Miles Jensen and Ryan Stewart gave stellar performances of tunes from all over the jazz spectrum, with one country tune thrown into the mix as well.

A reception followed in the Flora L. Thornton Courtyard where students, faculty and alumni mingled, reminisced and made plans for the future of the program.
