Describe your favorite USC Thornton experience so far.

It’s nearly impossible to pick a single favorite experience, but one of my favorite experiences at Thornton so far is when the other composers and I picnicked at Griffith Observatory together at sunset at the very beginning of freshman year!

What was your favorite USC GE class?

The Philosophy of Emotions

What is your favorite thing about being in Los Angeles?

The art scene!

What is something you wish you knew when you were applying to college?

This process will surprise you in such incredible ways. View touring/ auditioning as an adventure and keep in touch with the students you meet in the process- they may become your good friends! Use it also as an opportunity to learn about yourself and what you want, and there is NO PRESSURE to know everything right at this moment.

Where is your favorite place on campus?

Mudd Hall courtyard

What is your favorite thing about being a student at USC Thornton?

My favorite thing about being a student at the Thornton school is definitely the friendly, highly collaborative environment- I feel that I learn so much from my peers and friends! I love that Jazz, Pop, and Classical music are brought together and all are valued so much here.

Why did you choose USC Thornton?

I chose the Thornton school for its wonderful faculty and incredibly talented and creative student body. Sitting in on a Composition forum as a prospective student, I was completely blown away by the insightful ways students spoke about their art and how curious they were to learn about and from each other. Thornton has such a familial, warm environment- this was so clear to me as soon as I first experienced it. It is truly unique and very inspiring!
