Andrew Shulman to teach masterclasses and perform in concerts around the UK and Ireland

USC Thornton Strings department faculty member Andrew Shulman will be teaching masterclasses and performing in concerts in the United Kingdom and Ireland in May. The masterclasses will take place at the Royal Irish Academy of Music in Dublin on May 12, the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester on May 14, the Royal College of Music in London on May 15 and the Guildhall School of Music in London on May 16. On May 17, he will conduct a concert featuring works by Stravinsky, Dvorak and Rachmaninoff in Bristol, England.

This summer, Shulman will serve as co-artistic director of the New Hollywood String Quartet’s Summer of Angels Chamber Music Festival, taking place from July 10-13 at Rothenburg Hall in the Huntington Gardens. Featured guest artists include the conductor Leonard Slatkin, pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet, cellist Alban Gerhardt, violist Nokuthula Ngwenyama and pianist Olga Zado. Tickets go on sale May 12.

Shulman will also make appearances at several music festivals, including the Concordia Festival on June 24, the Unbound Chamber Music Festival from July 16-27 and the Vivace International Music Festival from July 30-August 10.
