The Thornton Student Portal is a comprehensive portal containing links and resources for all USC Thornton students, including details regarding Academic Advisement and Registration, the DMA Student Portal, Career Resources, and Health & Wellness links.

The physical, mental, and emotional health of any music professional is a critical ingredient to success. USC Thornton is committed to supporting the health and wellness of our students through information and support. Thornton Music Operations & Technology
The Thornton Music Operations office is responsible for managing access and services for Thornton facilities. Services include information technology, piano maintenance, student performance and practice resources, facilities, classroom and performance scheduling, instrument and asset management, and event production.
Thornton students must register annually with Music Operations to gain access to Thornton spaces (including practice rooms) and services.

Thornton Community Engagement Program (TCEP)
The USC Thornton Community Engagement Program is a diverse and extensive music education-oriented program that provides unique learning opportunities for children in the local community, as well as significant service-learning opportunities for Thornton students.

USC Student Health Insurance
USC requires all students to have comprehensive health insurance as well as compliance with immunization and screening requirements. Please review the details described below about this requirement for domestic students and international students.
Student Health Insurance Plan
For domestic students:
Per the USC Catalogue, all domestic students enrolled in 6 or more units will automatically be enrolled in the USC student health insurance plan. If your enrollment for the semester is less than 6 units (such as GCRT in Performance 4-unit course), you must enroll in the student health insurance plan by Friday, September 8, 2023. If you have your own health insurance, you can request a waiver of the Student Health Insurance Plan. Please visit this page for information about this process. The deadline to request a waiver is Friday, September 8, 2023.
Regardless of enrollment in the Student Health Insurance Plan or your own personal plan, a Student Health Fee will be automatically assessed to student accounts.
For international students:
All international students will automatically be enrolled in the USC Student Health Insurance plan upon course registration.

USC Lyft Rides Program
The USC Lyft Rides Program allows for safe transportation within the vicinity of the USC campus. Current USC students, faculty and staff have access to free rides provided by Lyft. LiveSafe App
The LiveSafe App provides a convenient way to contact DPS and access other safety resources through an app for your smartphone. All USC students are strongly encouraged to download the app and utilize it regularly. More information available at http://dps.usc.edu/services/safety-app/
TrojansAlert
The TrojansAlert system is a text-based notification system that will send a text message to your phone number in case of any emergency or incident of concern. The alerts can inform you of areas to avoid or certain safety measures to take as needed. All USC students are strongly encouraged to register for the TrojansAlert system. SCampus is the USC Student Handbook, which provides guidance on the policies and procedures that govern the relationship between USC students and the university. This includes guidelines for academic integrity and community standards. It is also a source of information about the programs and services available to you during your time at USC.
