USC Student Health Insurance

USC requires all students to have comprehensive health insurance as well as compliance with immunization and screening requirements. Please review the details described below about this requirement for domestic students and international students.

Student Health Insurance Plan

For domestic students:
Per the USC Catalogue, all domestic students enrolled in 6 or more units will automatically be enrolled in the USC student health insurance plan. If your enrollment for the semester is less than 6 units (such as GCRT in Performance 4-unit course), you must enroll in the student health insurance plan by Friday, September 8, 2023. Visit this page for information on insurance plan enrollment.

If you have your own health insurance, you can request a waiver of the Student Health Insurance Plan. Please visit this page for information about this process. The deadline to request a waiver is Friday, September 8, 2023.

Regardless of enrollment in the Student Health Insurance Plan or your own personal plan, a Student Health Fee will be automatically assessed to student accounts.

For international students:
All international students will automatically be enrolled in the USC Student Health Insurance plan upon course registration.

For all students (domestic or international), if you need more information, please visit the USC Student Health center office at https://sites.usc.edu/new-student-health-requirements/
