The Los Angeles Orchestra Fellowship is a partnership between USC Thornton, the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra (LACO), and the Inner-City Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles (ICYOLA). The Fellowship offers rigorous training to top-tier string musicians in the Graduate Certificate (GCRT) program at USC Thornton, as well as a generous financial package covering full tuition and living expenses. The purpose of the Fellowship is to help address the broad lack of diversity in American orchestras. GCRT applicants in Cello, Viola, or Violin from communities that are underrepresented in professional orchestras are strongly encouraged to apply for the Fellowship. To be considered for the Fellowship, applicants must apply for the GCRT program, indicate their interest in being considered for the Fellowship in the USC Thornton SlideRoom Application where prompted, and follow all of the standard GCRT application and audition requirements. No additional Fellowship application is required. Some additional requirements may be communicated to final-round candidates later in the Fellowship selection process.
