For the past 30 years, Eric Schmidt has been one of the busiest freelance composers in Los Angeles. He has composed, orchestrated and conducted the music for over 300 episodes of animated series produced by Disney (Quack Pack, Darkwing Duck, Hercules, Goof Troop and Bonkers) and Warner Bros. (Tazmania, Tinytoons, Animaniacs and The Sylvester and Tweety Mysteries).

His work has been featured in the motion pictures: Kingsglaive, Bounty Killers, Saving Adventure Island, Tom & Jerry and The Magic Ring, Mickey’s Once Upon A Christmas, Lakeboat, Beethoven III, The Perfect Storm, A Kid in King Arthur’s Court, Mighty Ducks II, Ground Zero, Employee Of The Month, My Super Ex-Girlfriend, Just My Luck and Little Man. Schmidt has produced music for the Megatrax library, various commercials and theme park shows for Disney and Universal. He orchestrated and conducted the music for the award-winning Sony PlayStation video game series Uncharted. For several years, he conducted and orchestrated for pianist John Tesh.

Schmidt’s concert repertoire includes numerous compositions for concert band, a ballet, one symphony for orchestra, two works for choir, 32 solo piano pieces,16 songs for children’s choir and several chamber works. Projects he has worked on have received the following nominations: two GRAMMYs, three Emmys, two Golden Reel Awards and one Annie Award.

He is a member of The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, The Society of Composers and Lyricists, the Recording Musicians Association and the American Federation of Musicians.

Schmidt studied architecture at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, composition at California State University, Northridge, film scoring at UCLA and attended the BMI Earl Hagen Film Scoring Workshop.
