We continue to make progress in making the fall semester unique and meaningful. While many details have yet to be fully confirmed, progress is being made weekly. As announced on July 15, all Thornton activity for the Fall 2020 semester will follow an online-only format. The information provided below will continue to evolve as more details are confirmed.

August 6: Details about the Fall 2020 Semester

In a memo on August 5 to the university community, Provost Zukoski announced that USC would begin the Fall 2020 semester with fully remote instruction. It is so unfortunate, but I want to clarify a few points in the Provost’s announcement as it relates specifically to the Thornton School.

  • Testing and Examination Tools: Information Technology Services (ITS) has performed an extensive analysis of USC’s remote testing applications and has provided a comparison of tools that can be used to administer, proctor and ensure the overall integrity of final exams at USC.
  • USC Center for Excellence in Teaching: The University’s CET provides targeted modules, videos, and short classes for instructors transitioning to online teaching methods.
