Describe your favorite USC Thornton experience so far.

Performing in USC Opera’s annual opera scenes program this past February has been one of my favorite experiences. Working alongside undergraduate and graduate students not only emphasizes the close and unique nature of the program, but also reinforces how rewarding collaborative opportunities like these are throughout college. The culmination of hard work, beautiful music, and loads of fun creates cherished memories shared by all.

What is your favorite thing about being in Los Angeles?

It’s a warmer, less dense New York City! I found myself instantly attracted to the buzzing energy and vibrant atmosphere, one that acts as an inspiration to explore and feed my curiosities. I strive to take advantage of all the incredible resources, opportunities, and experiences that this city affords, both musically and otherwise.

What is your favorite thing about being a student at USC Thornton?

This beautiful, diverse community has supported me, challenged me, and welcomed me in with open arms. I feel so fortunate to be able to learn, perform, and collaborate alongside such motivated students and professors who are as equally kind as they are smart and talented.

Why did you choose USC Thornton?

The Thornton School itself embodied wide-ranging opportunities for performing and learning, as well as a musical atmosphere with incredible, world-renowned faculty, and a facility and curriculum that is beyond compare. Being surrounded by like-minded, musical intellectuals on a day-to-day basis, bridging the gap between students and professors, and learning in a challenging, close-knit environment is what most appealed to me. At USC, a university with a breadth of unparalleled academic and extracurricular opportunities, I am supported and encouraged by the Thornton community to delve into various courses, classwork, and opportunities outside Thornton to explore my other interests openly and just as passionately.
