Shining Night; A Portrait of Composer Morten Lauridsen explores the relationship between art, nature, and spirituality through the fascinating life of Thornton faculty composer Morten Lauridsen, recipient of the 2007 National Medal of Arts.

Winner of two Best Documentary awards since opening on February 7, 2012 in Palm Springs, Shining Night was named “a heartening rarity” by Terry Teachout of The Wall Street Journal. Directed by first-time filmmaker Michael Stillwater, it gives audiences a rare encounter with this composer of radiant choral works which inspire humanity and convey a spiritual transmission to singers and audiences alike.
