The Los Angeles Times highlighted the upcoming performance of Wagner’s Das Liebesverbot by the USC Thornton Opera
The Los Angeles Times featured the USC Thornton School Opera Program’s performance of Wagner’s Das Liebesverbot, part of Visions and Voices: The USC Arts & Humanities Initiative. This West Coast premiere is only the second staged production of the opera in North America, the article stated. “Once I listened to it, I just couldn’t get my mind off it. It seemed like such a strong, fascinating, interesting piece,” said Brent McMunn of the Thornton School, conductor of the opera. The article also quoted Kenneth Cazan of the Thornton School and mentioned USC student Alexandra Loutsion, who will sing the key role of Isabella.
