Dr. Trevor Small is a licensed clinical psychologist who has been in the field of mental health since 1988. Dr. Small is the clinical director of a private, luxury residential psychiatric program in Los Angeles and is in private practice in Santa Monica. He lectures throughout the United States on the importance of understanding and removing the obstacles for individuals struggling with trauma, bipolar disorder, and personality disorders find a path to wellness and a foundation for an authentic life. His passion lies in providing creative individuals with a greater ability to reach their internal experiences and transform those experiences into art. He has found that through understanding the internal well-spring that artists and professionals use to create their worlds, they can increase the depth of their creativity to reach new heights and new audiences. Dr. Small further specializes in the re-integration of individuals who have struggled with mental health issues back into their creative spaces in a safe and mindful manner.
Dr. Small is a native of Los Angeles who received his bachelor and doctoral degrees from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California. His wife is active in the music community in her role in a Los Angeles based music startup. He has two sons; one of whom is studying composition at USC Thornton School of Music and the other is a hockey player with the Los Angeles Jr. Kings.
