ADMISSION:
Admission is free. Reservations are not required. Seating will be first-come, first-served.

DESCRIPTION:
Due to visa issues, Lamin Kuyateh will not be able to travel to the U.S. to perform in “Griot! African and European Improvisations,” the event originally scheduled for March 3.

While we hope to reschedule “Griot,” please join us instead for a concert featuring Early Modern European improvisations and villancicos performed by the USC Thornton Baroque Sinfonia, a period-instrument ensemble whose members are among the most gifted instrumentalists at the USC Thornton School. The Baroque Sinfonia is led by Adam Gilbert, the director of the Early Music program. Specializing in music from the seventeenth- through mid-eighteenth centuries, it has performed in the U.K.-L.A. Festival, the Los Angeles Bach Festival, the Long Beach Bach Festival, the J. Paul Getty Summer Music Festival, the Cal State Summer Arts Festival, and concert series at UCLA, Occidental College, Chapman University, the Skirball Cultural Center, and many others.

Organized by the USC Thornton School of Music.
