Thanh Tran is a Los Angeles-based music preparation supervisor, music copyist, and music librarian, preparing scores and parts for film, TV, and games recording sessions.
Tran’s notable clients include the Grammy Awards, Disney Parks Entertainment, Hollywood Scoring Los Angeles, “Halo 4 & 5” (343 Industries), American Idol (ABC), the film trailers for Avengers: Endgame and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, “League of Legends,” “Valorant” (Riot Games), and Marvel Studios.
His major recording artist clients include Harry Connick Jr., David Foster, Andrea Bocelli, Greg Phillinganes, Stevie Wonder, Branford Marsalis, Porter Robinson, Avenged Sevenfold, Chick Corea and Quincy Jones.
Tran’s passion has always been in film and game music. He has worked with world-renowned film and video game composers, including Alan Menken, William Ross, Nathan Barr, Garry Schyman, Pinar Toprak, Christopher Young and Rob Simonsen.
As a music librarian, Tran has worked extensively at major studios in Los Angeles, including The Barbra Streisand Scoring Stage (Sony), The Eastwood Scoring Stage (Warner Bros.), The Newman Scoring Stage (Fox) and Hollywood Scoring Studios. In addition, he has worked at the historic Abbey Road Studios and Air Studios in London as well as studios in Prague, Macedonia, and the Synchron Stage in Vienna, Austria.
Tran’s recent music preparation projects include the “Avengers Campus Marvel Cinematic Universe” at Disneyland California Adventure, the Netflix series Arcane (Riot Games), Oppenheimer (Universal Pictures) and Deadpool & Wolverine (Marvel Studios).
Tran is a Berklee College of Music Film Scoring alum (’00).
