USC Thornton faculty Andrew Shulman and Rachel Fine, Board of Councilors member Randy Newman participate in LACO’s Germany à la carte

USC Thornton School of Music faculty members Andrew Shulman and Rachel Fine, along with USC Thornton Board of Councilors member Randy Newman, participated in the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra’s “Germany à la carte” event, part of the “LACO à la carte” series. The events pair exclusive musical performances with delectable international cuisine in the spectacular private homes of the Consuls General of Australia, Austria, Finland, France and Germany. Shulman, who also serves as LACO’s Principal Cello,  led a performance of Richard Strauss’s rarely played epic masterpiece Metamorphosen, a profound musical elegy for seven virtuosic string players. Fine is currently the Executive Director of LACO.
