Ennis Harris receives 2022 Herb Alpert Young Jazz Composer Award

Ennis Harris, a master’s student in the USC Thornton Jazz Studies Department, won a 2022 Herb Alpert Young Jazz Composer Award. This award is given to young jazz composers up to the age of 30 through a partnership between the ASCAP Foundation and The Herb Alpert Foundation. Each recipient is selected through a juried national competition and receives a cash award.

Last year, composition master’s student Luca Mendoza (’21) and jazz studies alum and trobonist Jon Hatamiya (’16) also received this award.
