all events

The USC Thornton Opera program moves to Art Share L.A. in Downtown Los Angeles to present two one-act operas, Marc-Antoine Charpentier’s Actéon and Tom Cipullo’s Glory Denied.

The spring production is under the direction of guest stage director J. Martina Roos and music director Brent McMunn.

Actéon, a Pastorale en Musique first performed in 1683, is based on Ovid's story of the demise of Acteon at the hands of Diana. Glory Denied, written in 2006, is based on the true story of America’s longest-held prisoner of war.
