Thornton Chamber Virtuosi: That Which is Fundamental

all events

The Thornton Chamber Virtuosi present "That Which is Fundamental," an exploration of forgotten, canonical and newer works of the western classical idiom. These works establish exciting connections between baroque counterpoint and modernism as well as folk melodies and rhythms of the Americas with a virtuosic flair.

The program features Florence Price's Piano Quintet in A minor, William Grant Still's "Ennanga" for harp, string quartet and pianon, and Olli Mustonen's "Nonetto II" for 9 solo strings.

The USC Thornton Chamber Virtuosi are led by Seth Parker Woods, the Robert Mann Chair in Strings and Chamber Music at USC Thornton.

Admission is free and open to the public with RSVP. Free RSVP signups for this event will be available on Tuesday, February 11 at 12 p.m.. View all of Thornton's Signature Series events.
