Ludwig Göransson and Raphael Saadiq nominated in 2026 Golden Globes

Composer and USC Thornton alumnus Ludwig Göransson (GCRT ’08 – Screen Scoring) has been nominated for two categories at the 2026 Golden Globes: Best Original Score for Sinners (written, directed & produced by USC School of Cinematic Arts alumnus Ryan Coogler) and Best Original Song for “I Lied to You,” also from Sinners, co-written with Thornton Creative Vanguard Artist Raphael Saadiq. The nominations were announced on Monday, Dec. 8.

Göransson previously received Golden Globe nominations for Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther (2019) and Christopher Nolan’s Tenet (2021), and won the award for Oppenheimer in 2024.

Saadiq has earned prior nominations for his songs “Mighty River” from Mudbound (2018) and “Tigress and Tweed” from The United States vs. Billie Holiday (2021).

The 83rd Annual Golden Globes will air live on January 11, 2026, at 5 p.m. on CBS, with streaming available on Paramount+ following the ceremony.
