USC Winter Graduate Orientation

November – January
Now that you have certified your admission, you should receive an email from the Office of Orientation Programs at your USC email address inviting you to register for the Welcome Trojans Graduate Winter Orientation. You will be asked to complete a short registration form to gain access to the Trojan Engagement Center (TEC). TEC is an online hub that will provide information and resources to prepare you for your start here at USC. As this information will be emailed to you, please be sure to complete your first login to have access to your USC email account. Visit the Orientation Website for additional information.

Academic Advisement and Course Registration

Late November – December
All incoming graduate students will hear from their academic advisor by end of November regarding academic advisement and course registration. Advisement and registration occurs in early/mid-December. Please be sure to check your USC email account for details from your academic advisor.

Music Graduate Entrance Exams (MGEEs)

January 5-7
The Music Graduate Entrance Examinations (MGEE) will be administered on January 5-7. Be sure to review the MGEE website to review the exam schedule and which exams are required for your program. It is essential for all students to take their exams prior to beginning their coursework. Failure to do so may delay progress in the degree program. Students who hold a Bachelor of Music or Bachelor of Arts degree from the Thornton School of Music are exempt from any examination in fields in which they have taken comparable coursework.

Registration and Tuition Deadline

January 9, 5:00PM
All new students must register for spring classes and pay their tuition by 5:00PM on Friday, January 9. Failure to meet this deadline may result in late registration and/or late settlement fees. Students are encouraged to pay their bills online at usc.edu/uscepay.
