USC THORNTON COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY: Friday – May 10th, 2024 at 11:00 a.m.
USC Thornton will host graduating bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral students at a ceremony in Pardee Lawn at (11:00 a.m). This event is expected to last an hour and a half. This year’s commencement speakers are Grammy-winning singer/songwriter Kali Uchis and Pulitzer Prize-winning composer and USC Thornton alum Michael Abels (’84).
USC THORNTON RECEPTION
Following the Thornton commencement ceremony around 12:30 p.m., there will be a reception on Argue Plaza Lawn.
TICKETING INFORMATION
Tickets will be required to access campus and all commencement events taking place on May 8-11, 2024. Graduating students will be able to reserve, free of charge, tickets for themselves and up to eight named guests. Tickets will not be transferrable. There will be an appeal process if more tickets are needed. Please watch this space for ticketing links to follow.
ABOUT THE HONOREES
The USC Thornton School of Music will honor two acclaimed musical artists: Thornton alum Michael Abels (’84), a Pulitzer-Prize winning composer, who will receive the Outstanding Alumni award; and Kali Uchis, a Grammy, Billboard and American Music Award winning singer-songwriter, who will receive the Outstanding Artistic Achievement award. 2024 HONORS CONVOCATION: Thursday – May 9th, 2024
Graduating students from across all departments & programs of USC Thornton are celebrated for their accomplishments at the 2024 Honors Convocation.
This year’s celebration will be held on Thursday, May 9th from 9:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Town & Gown on the University Park Campus. The schedule is as follows:
9:30 a.m. – Continental breakfast on the patio
10:00 a.m. – Honors Convocation ceremony begins
12:00 p.m. – Honors Convocation ceremony ends

- Please note that USC is now a smoke-free campus. Smoking is prohibited in all indoor and outdoor facilities on university grounds.
- Commencement Day activities may involve prolonged exposure to the sun. Sunscreen, water, and hats are recommended.
