What is your favorite place on campus and why?

My favorite place on campus is the Coliseum. I’m a huge football fan and I love going to games and supporting my most favorite college football team!

What is your go-to place for a delicious snack/meal on or around campus?

I like to go to the Coffee Bean that’s in the SCA building to get a latte and breakfast burrito.

What is your favorite thing about Los Angeles?

What I love most about Los Angeles is all of the music and film that is happening everywhere. I grew up in L.A. and I’m happy that I continue to be a part of all of this.

What advice would you share with students applying to music schools right now?

Continue to be the master of your craft and continue to push yourself to the next level with your skills. This goes for musicians, audio engineers, producers, and other industry people, continue to allow yourself to learn and your growth and prosperity in this industry will be endless. Also, it really helps to have knowledge in multiple skills here. For example, if you play guitar, also learn how to use Pro Tools, write music, put on a show, and anything else that can make you a more well-rounded professional. Be talented, sociable, and entrepreneurial and you’ll go far with all of that. With applying to schools, reach out to the schools that you want to go to and talk to them about what you want to do and the best way of going about being a part of their program. This helps to give you more exposure and a sense of how to make your application the most competitive that it could be.

Why did you choose USC Thornton?

I chose to go to Thornton for multiple reasons. The connections that you create here with your peers and professors are so valuable and will last throughout your whole life. I also wanted to come here because I want to do film scoring in my future and it’s such a great opportunity to be across the street from the film school to start to make connections with the future directors and film producers that come out of there. I plan on continuing to live in Los Angeles after I graduate, so it made sense to go to school here and make connections that I could use throughout my career. It’s also the best school in Los Angeles! Fight On!
