Steven Vanhauwaert releases two new albums

Pianist Steven Vanhauwaert (MM ‘06, GCRT ‘08), an alum of the USC Thornton Keyboard Studies program, recently released two new albums, Paris <> Los Angeles: Milhaud, Mozart, Zeisl and Ferruccio Busoni: l’Énigme. Both albums are released by the independent French label Editions Hortus, with which Vanhauwaert has previously released multiple albums.

Paris <> Los Angeles: Milhaud, Mozart, Zeisl is made in collaboration with French violinist Ambroise Aubrun and contains works by the titular composers, including a premiere of one of Eric Zeisl’s early suites. Ferruccio Busoni: l’Énigme is a solo album of works by Italian composer Ferruccio Busoni, and includes a recording of “Fantasia Contrappuntistica,” a segment of which is available to watch from Vanhauwaert’s 2018 Piano Spheres concert.
