Diana Newman sings in LA Opera’s “The Magic Flute”
USC Thornton alum Diana Newman (BM ‘12, MM ‘14) played “First Lady” in LA Opera’s production of The Magic Flute last month. She’s no stranger to the world’s most popular opera; her debut performance was in the same role at the Dallas Opera in 2019, and she later played “Papagena” at the Metropolitan Opera in 2022.
These performances also marked James Conlon’s final production as the LA Opera Music Director. Read more about the production here.
