Dear Thornton Community,
Our hearts ache for our society after the murder of George Floyd, the deaths of Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and the many others we have lost.
These tragic events are happening while the Thornton community is still healing from the death of student Victor McElhaney who was murdered in March of last year.
USC Thornton is committed to embracing individuality, inclusion, and equity. It is my sincere desire to create a kind, generous, and welcoming culture. This is an ongoing journey with important work for us to do. We invite honest conversations and will do our part to create meaningful change, both in the short and long term. The time is now; we must.
I speak for all in the Thornton School in saying that we stand together in painful times like this. We make space for one another, we extend love to one another, and, particularly this week, we stand in solidarity with our black and brown communities. Black lives matter.
