Dear Thornton Community,
As the 2022 spring semester gets underway, USC Thornton students are preparing for a return to live performances, and I’m proud to announce that all departmental and ensemble events are open to in-person, limited capacity audiences. After months of not being able to accommodate live audiences for the 100+ events we present each year, Los Angeles County and university event regulations have made it possible to open our doors again.
We have shared our February schedule, and you can read more about these events here. The full semester of events at Thornton will be announced later in February.
This semester’s calendar of live performances marks a shift from the streaming-based approach we adopted in the fall 2021 semester while our venues remained closed. In order to make live audiences possible, Thornton has launched a new set of box office and event management services that provide audience reservations and compliance protocols with all current COVID-19-affiliated regulations. All in-person events require a RSVP and adherence to our attendance guidelines, which can be found here.
Thornton is excited to open its doors and invite our audiences back to its venues, and we encourage you to attend our performances again where magical moments are made possible by our talented students and faculty.
Stay safe and be well,
Dean, USC Thornton School of Music
