Gerald Clayton tours North America with The Blue Note Quintet

Pianist, composer and USC Thornton alumnus Gerald Clayton (’07) has embarked on a North American tour with The Blue Note Quintet—featuring saxophonist Immanuel Wilkins, vibraphonist Joel Ross, drummer Kendrick Scott and bassist Matt Brewer—in celebration of Blue Note Records’ 85th Anniversary. The tour includes 35 stops from January 18th to March 8th, with a Los Angeles show taking place on Feb. 4 at the Lodge Room.

“Blue Note has been such a wonderful home for the community, for incredible musicians, for creativity, for all these years,” Clayton said. “You can’t help but think about all those masters, all those heroes that you’ve grown up listening to. To get a chance to pay tribute and try to carry some of that essence forward is truly just an honor.”

Clayton joined Blue Note Records in 2020 and has released two albums with the label: Happening: Live At The Village Vanguard and Bells On Sand.
