Ludwig Göransson receives 2024 Eliason Merit Award

Acclaimed composer Ludwig Göransson (GCRT ’08) has received the 2024 Eliason Merit Award from the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce – Los Angeles (SACC-LA), announced on Nov. 1.

“It is a profound honor to receive the Eliason Merit Award,” Göransson said in a statement. “This recognition is a testament to the incredible opportunities I’ve had to collaborate with exceptionally talented artists and filmmakers throughout my journey. As a proud Swede, I find endless inspiration in our rich cultural heritage and the dynamic music scene that continues to shape my work. I look forward to embracing new musical experiences while celebrating the unique stories and perspectives that Swedish artistry brings to the global landscape. Thank you for this wonderful honor!”

Since 1988, the Eliason Merit Award (EMA) has been annually awarded to a Swedish individual or business that has significantly strengthened Swedish-American relations. The prize ceremony and red carpet reception is hosted by SACC-LA in Los Angeles.

Ludwig Göransson is being celebrated for his remarkable talent in creating diverse and innovative musical compositions.
