Health Insurance and Immunization Compliance

USC requires all students to have comprehensive health insurance as well as compliance with immunization and screening requirements.

Visit the USC Engemann Student Health Center for details regarding the enrollment in the USC student health insurance plan, waiver requirements (only for domestic students), and immunization requirements (all students) at https://studenthealth.usc.edu/health-requirements-for-new-students/.

Student Health Insurance

For domestic students
Per the USC Catalogue, all domestic students enrolled in 6 or more units will automatically be enrolled in the USC student health insurance plan. If your enrollment for the semester is less than 6 units (such as GCRT in Performance 4-unit course), you must enroll in the student health insurance plan by the add/drop deadline for the semester (Friday of the third week of classes).

For international students
Per the USC Catalogue, all international students are automatically enrolled in the USC student health insurance plan regardless of the number of units in which they are enrolled.

Immunization Requirements

Per USC Engemann Student Health Center policy, students must complete immunization requirements by the third week of your first semester. If you do not complete the immunization and screening requirement by the deadline, a hold will be placed on your records that will prevent you from registering for classes.
