What is your favorite place on campus and why?

My favorite place on campus is the United University Church. My dad is a Thornton Alum and was the Music Director at UUC, so I grew up there, sang in the choir with my mom, and played the piano and trumpet during services. That beautiful building holds so many happy memories for me and it felt like coming home when I had my composition lessons there.

What is your go-to place for a delicious snack/meal on or around campus?

I love Ramen Kenjo and Insomnia Cookies.

What is your favorite thing about Los Angeles?

I have been lucky enough to live in Los Angeles my whole life, and my favorite thing about LA is what a diverse community it is and how many exciting experiences and opportunities it offers. Also… there’s Disneyland!

What advice would you share with students applying to music schools right now?

I would tell students who are applying to not be afraid to reach out to faculty, the admissions team and students, because we are all here to help.

Why did you choose USC Thornton?

I chose to attend USC Thornton because I am passionate about multiple disciplines and the school offers everything. I’ve not only been able to develop my skills as a classical composition major, but I’ve continued to pursue my love for songwriting, jazz trumpet/piano, musical theatre and dance.
