Sharon Lavery to conduct work by USC alumni in Hong Kong

Sharon Lavery, Chair of the Winds and Percussion department at USC Thornton, will conduct the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts to perform pieces by alumni Oscar Navarro and Juan Pablo Contreras and former faculty member Frank Tichelli on June 26.  

Lavery’s work spans orchestral performances, education, and artistic leadership, with a focus on connecting professional practice and academic training. At USC, Lavery leads major ensembles and teaches instrumental conducting, mentoring the next generation of performers and educators.
