American Composers Orchestra to perform work by Sarah Gibson

Sarah Gibson (MM ’10, DMA ’15), a member of the USC Thornton Composition faculty, is one of seven composers whose works will be performed by the American Composers Orchestra (ACO), an ensemble dedicated to reading and performing new contemporary classical music. The ACO’s 25th annual Underwood New Music Readings concert will take place on June 14 at Columbia University.

An alumna and Outstanding Graduate of Thornton, Gibson is also the Teaching Artist for the esteemed Composer Fellowship Program and Associate Composer Program of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, under artistic director and Composition faculty member Andrew Norman. In 2014, she co-founded the acclaimed HOCKET piano duo with pianist/composer Thomas Kotcheff (MM ’12).

At the New Music Readings event, the ACO will perform Gibson’s orchestral work, “Talking to the Time.”
