Award-winning documentary scored by Cody Westheimer to make TV debut in honor of Earth Day

“The Story of Plastic,” an award-winning documentary scored by USC Thornton Composition alum Cody Westheimer (BM ’01) alongside Mike McCready of Pearl Jam, will make its U.S. television debut on Discovery Channel in honor of Earth Day. The documentary, directed by Deia Schlosberg, was premiered at the Mill Valley Movie Pageant and won the Viewers Award.

The documentary will air on the Discovery Channel April 22 at 2:00 p.m. PST and EST.

Westheimer has scored a number of projects, from his work on the IMAX film, “Journey to Space 3D,” which premiered at the California Science Center in Los Angeles, to his compositions for Major League Soccer, Sports Dash, Meet the Press, and the 2012 London Olympic Games.
