
Pianist Esther Lee makes Carnegie Hall debut
On March 16, USC Thornton Keyboard Studies alumna Esther Lee (GCRT ’15, DMA ’19) made her Carnegie Hall debut as a pianist for the world premiere of Elliott Bark’s Mercy for Violin, Cello, Piano and Orchestra, presented by Distinguished Concerts International New York. Entitled “A Vision of Light,” the concert showcased choral and orchestral works that evoke messages of light. Mercy featured performances by the Crean Lutheran High School Symphony Orchestra, violinist Andrew Kwon, and cellist Janet Park.
Esther Lee received training at renowned institutions in South Korea, Germany and the U.S., receiving her Doctor of Musical Arts degree at Thornton under the tutelage of Bernadene Blaha. She has performed internationally and received numerous awards at esteemed competitions.
