Musician's Wellness Initiative: Balance Your Life, Balance Your Body

Chantelle Rice and Janice Rocker of the Chan Division of Occupational Therapy, will present tools to help student musicians find the right balance of work, study, rest, and “chill” time, while decreasing their chances of injury. Students are encouraged to bring their instruments along for a postural assessment.

Music@RushHour: Music of Poland

Piano and choral students team with USC's Polish Music Center to perform music by Chopin, Louis Lewandowski, Ignatz Waghalter, Grzegorz Fitelberg, Moritz Moszkowski, and more — with special guests from Kraków, the Polish Chamber Music Society. Relax and skip the traffic with a free concert of music by USC Thornton students, followed by complimentary refreshments.

Choral Literature Lecture with Ann Howard Jones

Choral Luminary Ann Howard Jones presents a choral literature lecture on performing two works for chorus and orchestra, Verdi's Requiem and Beethoven's 9th Symphony. The lecture will take place in room 319 on the 3rd floor of the MUS building.

USC Thornton Symphony: New Music for Orchestra

Donald Crockett, chair of the Composition program, leads the USC Thornton Symphony in this annual concert featuring original works by Thornton student composers.

Drum Day

The USC Thornton Community Engagement Programs celebrates the diversity and universality of the percussion family of musical instruments. The day-long event will offer clinics, demonstrations, and participatory drumming sessions in a variety of different styles and traditions.

LACMA Sundays Live featuring USC Thornton Classical Guitar Ensemble

USC Thornton’s Classical Guitar Ensemble performs for the Sundays Live concert series at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA). The concert will take place in the museum's Leo S. Bing Theater. Admission is free.

USC Thornton Jazz Honors Combo

The Jazz Honors Combo, a select group of USC Thornton jazz musicians led by Jason Goldman, presents an evening of original works written by students and featuring a string quartet.
