Grant Gershon pens KCET article about equity in the arts

USC Thornton alum Grant Gershon (BM ‘85), artistic director of the Los Angeles Master Chorale, recently penned an article for KCET about how artists and arts organizations can do more to make the arts accessible and equitable. “I believe that the single most important thing that arts organizations must do now is lift up a multiplicity of voices,” Gershon writes.

As many arts organizations face limitations during the Covid-19 pandemic, and artists and professionals feel the call to do more to confront inequality in their professions, Gershon emphasizes the importance of emerging from the current crisis with purpose, writing: “When we finally emerge from the COVID-19 crisis and are able to sing freely together again, it will be with a renewed sense of responsibility and mission.”
