Lila Forde, a senior in USC Thornton’s Jazz Studies program, recently released an EP, In Another Life, and was profiled in a Daily Trojan article about the project. In the article, Forde discusses her inspiration for the release, and how she has grown during her time in the Jazz Studies program while working with faculty member Aaron Serfaty as a member of ALAJE, the Afro-Latin American jazz ensemble he leads.
“I came to USC knowing that my voice, and my original style was in me somewhere, but I hadn’t really discovered it or developed it yet,” Forde told the Daily Trojan. “I’ve grown so much. Looking back on when I was a freshman, I have learned from so many professors and my peers as well.”
