Los Angeles Orchestra Fellow Malik Taylor featured on Spectrum News 1

Los Angeles Orchestra Fellow Malik Taylor, one of the four Fellows accepted into the second cohort of the Los Angeles Orchestra Fellowship, was recently featured in a Spectrum News 1 segment about the program. In the segment, Taylor appears with two of his earliest mentors to share his musical journey that led him to the fellowship, and what he hopes to achieve through the program.

The Los Angeles Orchestra Fellowship is a postgraduate program that’s designed to increase diversity in American orchestras. It launched in 2018 as a partnership between the Inner City Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles (ICYOLA), Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, and USC Thornton. This three-year program will give Taylor and three of his peers the opportunity to experience all of the aspects of being an orchestral musician while mentoring the next generation of musicians with ICYOLA.
