Norman Krieger performance featured in Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette recently interviewed keyboard studies faculty Norman Krieger in advance of his performance of Brahms’ Piano Concerto No. 2 with the Arkansas Symphony.

“It’s a privilege to play it,” Krieger said of the piece. “Every time I play it it’s a great challenge. The older I get, the more elegant and refined the second concerto is to play; when I was younger, it was almost a boxing match.”

The newspaper also reviewed Krieger’s performance, saying, “It would be impossible to listen to the sunny, sprightly fourth movement without a smile.”
