Returning to USC in March 2020, the Piatigorsky International Cello Festival offers another unparalleled celebration of the cello. Take a look back at the 2016 festival above.


Every four years, the Piatigorsky International Cello Festival brings together masters of the cello and young cellists from around the world to converge at USC in a remarkable celebration of the cello, its music and musicians.

Presented by USC Thornton and the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the festival will return March 13 – 22, 2020 with 10 days of events spanning concerts, masterclasses and galas. This year’s events will also feature the world premieres of several newly commissioned compositions.
