Spring Events on Thornton/LIVE

USC Thornton presents concerts and special events this Spring on our virtual stage, Thornton/LIVE.
Spring is almost here, and USC Thornton’s virtual stage, Thornton/LIVE, is set to begin anew with weekly events starting next week.
Thornton presents three events on Friday, March 19 to Saturday, March 20 featuring an ongoing collaboration among students in the Classical Performance & Composition Division, a documentary screening hosted by the Polish Music Center, and a virtual performance by the Early Music program’s ensemble, the Baroque Sinfonia.
On Friday, March 19th at 7:00 pm (PST), digital works by students from across the Classical Performance & Composition Divisions blur the boundaries between styles and genres in the Performer-Composer Collaboration.
On Saturday, March 20th at 11:00 am (PST), the Polish Music Center will honor the 10th anniversary of the death of celebrated composer Henryk Górecki, who famously conducted the USC Thornton Symphony in a performance of his classic Third Symphony in 1997, with a screening of the documentary, Please Find — Henryk Mikołaj Górecki.
That same evening, at 7:00 pm (PST), the Baroque Sinfonia will present a concert of songs, dances, and improvisations from early modern England, featuring vocal and instrumental works from composers of the era, including Henry Purcell, Georg Frideric Handel, and Torlough O’Carolan.
