Los Angeles Times quoted USC Thornton faculty member Tim Page about the skills of pianist Vladimir Horowitz to coincide with the release of a box set that compiles Horowitz’s performances at Carnegie Hall over a 35-year period. Addressing a controversial essay he penned 20 years ago critical of Horowitz’s celebrity, Page stated, “Horowitz will never be my favorite pianist, but I’ve enjoyed this set quite a bit. There’s some really wonderful playing.”
